CLIL in tertiary education – developing material for the course, Scientific Writing in English

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a dual-focused approach to teaching an additional language through particular subject. CLIL as concept mostly very effectively used within bilingual education. methodology provides teachers with creative means prepare course materials. Our PhD course, Scientific Writing in English includes biomedical students who need specific knowledge skills when writing their dissertation. The material was developed using CLIL, taking students’ interests needs into consideration. Their scientific focus on simplicity clear-cut, to-the-point sentences while similar structures improving field-specific linguistic intelligence. choice of affects success conveying the message research outcome. built by structure revised Bloom’s Taxonomy starting each lesson engagement lower-order thinking widening towards higher-order ones. Students’ receptive productive are activated expertise given topic improves. According feedback, interactivity aids comprehension, helps digest topic. However, habits receiving content frontal lecture-style way make them less open new styles strategies for processing material.
